Features
What a feature is in Vantage, how the reference is organised, and how to read one of its pages.
On this page
Vantage has 428 features in 19 areas, with 3,422 options between them, as of 2.0.1. This section is their reference: one page per area, every feature on it, every option of every feature. Those pages are generated from the mod's own source when this site is built, so they describe the build you can download, and nothing it does not have.
This page says how the reference is put together and how to read it. The pages themselves are listed at the end.
What a feature is
A feature is one thing Vantage does that you can switch on or off on its own: a puzzle solver, a HUD element, a
line in a tooltip, a warning before a boss spawns. In the code it is one Java class, a subclass of Feature,
and an @FeatureInfo annotation on that class says everything the menu and this reference know about it:
| Field | What it says |
|---|---|
id | A stable lower_snake_case name. Your settings are saved under it, and /vantage config takes it. |
name and description | What the menu and the reference print. |
group | The group it is listed under. Every group belongs to one area. |
tags | What kind of thing it is, across areas. The tags are below. |
enabledByDefault | Whether it starts on, in a new install. |
islands | Where it runs. None at all means anywhere in SkyBlock. |
requiresSkyblock | Off for the few features that also work outside SkyBlock. |
Every feature has one master switch, Enabled, at the top of its page in the menu. Everything under it is the feature's options. Some features also draw something on your screen; each of those things is a HUD element, and the HUD editor moves, scales and hides it.
On, and active
A feature you switched on is active only where it applies: in SkyBlock, unless it works outside it, and on one
of its islands, if it names any. Anywhere else it does nothing at all, because it is not even listening to the
game. /vantage features lists every feature with its state, and marks one that is on but not doing anything
where you stand with "(inactive here)".
How the reference is organised
The reference has the same three levels as the menu, in the same order:
- an area, such as Mining or Dungeons, which is one page here and one entry in the menu's sidebar;
- a group inside it, such as Crystal Hollows or Puzzle solvers, which is a heading on that page;
- the features of the group, each with its own heading and its options.
The areas answer where: which part of SkyBlock a feature is for. The tags answer what kind of thing it is, which is the question to ask when you want every feature that draws a waypoint, wherever it is.
Reading a reference page
A page opens with its area's counts. Then, feature by feature, it gives the description and a line of facts:
| You see | It means |
|---|---|
| On by default or Off by default | What the feature starts as in a new install. Your own setting replaces it from the moment you change it. |
| HUD and other chips | Its tags. |
| Islands: … | It runs only there. With no islands listed, it runs anywhere in SkyBlock. |
| n HUD elements | It draws that many things the HUD editor can move. |
| Works outside SkyBlock | It runs outside SkyBlock as well. |
an_id | Its id, for /vantage config. |
Then come its options, in a table with four columns:
| Column | What it holds |
|---|---|
| Option | The option's name, as the menu shows it. |
| What it does | Its description. "Depends on X." means the option only applies while the switch X of the same feature is on, and the menu greys it out meanwhile; "being off" turns that round. |
| Type | The control the menu draws, and what bounds it: "Slider, 0–100%", "Dropdown: Fast · Slow", "Button: Check", "Toggle". A long list of choices names the first few and folds the rest under "and N more". |
| Default | The value in a new install, as the menu would show it where the source says it plainly: On, 4s, a key such as H, a rarity, a colour. Anything the source computes is printed as the source wrote it, in code. |
When a feature's options are split into sections in the menu, its table is split the same way, under the same headings, and the options with no section of their own are under "General", as they are in the menu. The master switch is not in the tables, because the badge already says how it starts; options the mod keeps but never shows are left out, and are not counted.
Finding a feature in the game
- Search the menu. Open it with Right Shift or
/vantage, then press Ctrl+F. The search looks at feature names and ids, tags, groups, areas and descriptions, and at every option's name, description, section and keywords. The arrow keys move through the results and Enter opens one. - Go straight to it.
/vantage config <id>opens the menu on that feature's page. Tab completes the ids; a one-word name, or a part of an id that only one feature has, works too. - List them.
/vantage featuresprints every feature and whether it is on; add an area to list only that one.
On this site, the features page filters the whole list as you type, and the search field on these pages finds a feature by its name, on its reference page.
Tags
A feature carries at least one tag, chosen for what it does rather than what its name suggests. The menu's search matches a tag's name, so typing "waypoints" there lists every feature that draws one.
| Tag | The feature… |
|---|---|
| HUD | adds a movable on-screen HUD element |
| Waypoints | draws a marker in the world for you to go to |
| Solver | works out and shows the answer to a puzzle or a minigame |
| Tracker | counts something over a session and keeps the count |
| Profit | puts a value in coins on something |
| Highlight | outlines or colours a block, a mob or a slot where it is |
| Hides clutter | removes or quiets something the game draws |
| Tooltip | adds lines to an item's tooltip |
| Chat filter | hides, replaces or compacts chat messages |
| Keybind | binds a key |
| Sound | plays or mutes a sound |
| Warning | raises a title, a toast or an alert when something happens |
| Timer | counts down, or up, to something in the game |
| Menu | changes or overlays one of Hypixel's menus |
| Prices | reads Bazaar, auction or NPC prices |
| Map | draws a map or a minimap |
| Party | reads or writes party state or party chat |
| Automation | does something for you without a key press |
